My love for art began early in life, but my vocational career took me in a different direction. Throughout those working and family-raising years, I continued my love for and development of artistic creations, photography being one of them. My creative journey began in college and continued beyond with extensive formal training in art and design, including drawing, oil painting, watercolor, and acrylics. Becoming a photographer has allowed me to do what I love best, and I am excited and happy to have my work validated by being voted “Best of the Best 2011 and 2012” by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette readers.

My goal is to utilize my experience and my continued training to provide beautiful creative images at a reasonable price. I like to think that I am capturing memories and presenting them in the form of art that will be enjoyed now and for generations to come. By specializing in custom, on-location photography, I bring the “studio” to you. I can photograph conveniently in your home, at a location that is special to you, or I can recommend some great shooting locations. I can also do a studio session in my home. My goal is to keep photographs pure and simple and use natural light as much as possible. I love to capture unexpected moments when subjects are at ease and being themselves.

Located in the Little Rock area, “larry barnes photography” serves all of Central Arkansas with a connection in Northwest Arkansas, my daughter Reagan McKinney. This allows us to provide photography services to a large portion of the state. I specialize in family and children, maternity, bridal and wedding photography, and special events such as Christmas, reunions, birthdays, and wedding anniversaries. I like to meet with clients to get to know them and be sure I have an understanding of what they want before the actual photo session.
